I was too lazy this post to put all the pictures in the right order... so they are a little random. Sorry.
This morning Madeline posed for me the first time. She was saying, "CHEESE!" and smiling.
Like the title of the post suggests, my mom and little sister came to visit us this weekend. We thought it would be a fun relaxing weekend, but they mostly helped me pack and get ready to move to Washington for the Summer. My mom is the ultimate super woman and it was so nice to have Kali to keep Madeline company!
We did squeeze in a few fun things. Here is the cockroach race we attended at the Purdue Bug Bowl. The man in charge of racing is actually Madeline's nursery teacher... she's pretty lucky don't you think?
Everybody was really surprised that I was so willing to hold the tarantula. They creep me out a whole lot less than milipedes and cockroaches. Kali was totally creeped out. She spazzed out when I put the plastic tarantula on her that they had by the exhibit... woot! :)
Kali thought it would be a real great idea to get Madeline's picture with the bee, but as you can see from her face Madeline wasn't very excited. She did enthusiastically say goodbye!
Here we are at the cricket spitting finals. People put live crickets in their mouth and spit them as far as they can... only in Indiana, right? :)
This is my favorite picture of the whole post. My mom is the cutest lady ever!!! We went to the mall and outside of it there were three trees that had TONS and TONS and TONS of birds in them. It was SO loud! Josh took Madeline over and discovered that they would just jump up to the top and stop chirping, like you thought they had disapeared. When he came back, mom thought it was so cool that she wanted to try it. She ran over jumping and chirping and the birds got real quiet, real fast. You kinda had to be there, but just know she is SO cute!!
We went to feed the ducks one night too. Madeline was really excited to feed them so she ran up to them with bread and they started hissing at her (there weren't really any ducks, just mean geese), needless to say we were all a lot more careful after that.
Here is mom taking care of the underdog, she was certain this goose had a limp and was trying to nurse him back to health with some extra bread. :) Isn't she a good lady?
Kali loved feeding the ducks too.
Another cute picture.

I love all the cute pics - esp. when Madeline said "cheese". I cannot even believe that you held a tarantula - I would rather die!! The Bug Bowl looked fun and crazy weird - but I would have paid big money to see Mom and Kali spit crickets. Yuck! I am glad you are all packed and ready to go - we are so excited to see you! Love ya!
These are fun pictures!
That bugbowl sounds pretty darn weird! How come you're going to Seattle for the summer?
You are so much braver than I!
Awesome update on the post. Thanks so much for a great weekend. We had a ton of fun and is was especially fun to love that darling grandbaby!! We love you guys tons. Can't wait until your here. See ya real soon.
We got honked at by a goose in a parking lot in Greenwood a few weeks back. It was pretty hilarious watching the goose play "chicken" with our car! They're mean birds...
& way to go attending a Tea Party! We thought Bloomington was too liberal to have one, so we didn't go looking for one & found out the next day that they had one. Too bad.
Madeline is adorable! All the pictures are way fun-your mom sounds like an awesome woman!
How fun! I miss you guys! what part of WA? Can we come visit you? :)
